Cuffed Xmas Stockings

Here’s a little secret… I haven’t sewn anything in quite a while. Life has been busy, and there’s been a lot of behind-the-scenes admin going on to keep everything running smoothly. Somehow, November crept up without me even realising.

I’ve actually had this pattern and tutorial sitting quietly on my computer for almost two years - waiting for the right moment. So when I finally sat down to sew again, it turned out to be the perfect ice breaker to ease me back into making - it's simple enough to get that sewing satisfaction and bug back in just a couple of hours.

I thought it was only right to share my favourite way to make these stockings with you all. This pattern has a sweet cuffed design (my favourite detail!) that adds such a lovely, classic touch - it’s so fun to play around with different colours and textures. There’s also a little loop for hanging, ready to fill with festive treats.

As always, I tested lots of different methods to find the easiest and most enjoyable way to sew it, which I’ve included all of in the tutorial.

The pattern comes in three sizes - one for tiny treasures, one classic, and one roomy enough for bigger gifts. I love it in linen, gingham, velvet, or vintage florals - anything that brings a little warmth and nostalgia.

I have a lace curtain that's been in my sewing stash for too long now and I'm planning on using some of this on the cuff of my next one. It's definitely one of those patterns that's a little bit addictive!

It’s the perfect evening sew (once you get the technique down it can take just under an hour to sew, I made three over the course of one evening last week) and such a lovely handmade gift to make for others too ❤️

Who wouldn't love their own stocking in their favourite colours hanging over the mantlepiece lovingly handmade by a friend or family member?

I hope you love making it and using it as much as I’ve loved designing it!

As always, I love seeing what you create. Any pictures of your makes you would like to share please tag or send my way - it always makes my day and you're all so creative I'm always so amazed by what everyone comes up with ❤️

Wishing you a cosy rest of your weekend, whatever craft you may be up to!

With love,

Fleur xx
